BATTLESHIP NEVADA BOOK
This 5 star book has been expressedly written to commemorate the centennial of the launching of Battleship Nevada on 11 July 1914. It's lavishly illustrated in full color with 14 original paintings and 115 photographs and drawings. It offers a unique perspective of one of the most famous battleships to ever serve the US Navy. From her prewar ‘show the flag’ cruises, to her Pearl Harbor sortie on December 7 1941, followed by her resurrection and triumphant return to the fleet. She served is both the Atlantic and the Pacific during WWII and acquired a reputation for gunnery second to none and for courage under fire. When the clock ran out for Nevada after World War II, she was twice atomic bombed and then withstood the sustained gunfire from another battleship, three cruisers, and eleven destroyers, but she defiantly refused to sink. Nevada finally succumbed to a final torpedo. A complete chronology of Battleship Nevada is also included. As is a look at various models and memorabilia of the ship over the years.
