USS Iowa
information
On 28 June 2008 my wife and I took a 2 hour tour cruise on Suisun Bay aboard Bayview Charters to view the USS Iowa. The trip and tour were both wonderful. Our narrator was Bill Stephens director of the organization to save the Iowa, move the ship to Mare Island, there to be restored and open as a museum and center for military history research. The cost of the tours are modest, the crew very friendly and professional. Snacks, hambugers and hotdogs are available aboard the tour vessel. Please click the links below for information on taking this tour of history and learn how to help with the preservation this priceless national treasure the Battleship Iowa. We can't wait to go again.
If you would like more information please .
Our Guides for the day: Left is William Stephens of the USS Iowa preservation group, right is Howard Williams of Bay View Charters.
